Shareholders asked to select high integrity people to serve on board

Breman Brakwa (C/R), Aug. 27, GNA - Shareholders of Rural Banks have been advised to elect people of high integrity, experience and with good background to serve as board members to accelerate the growth of the banks.

The Managing Director of the ARB Apex bank, Mr. Emmanuel Kwapong gave the advice in a speech read for him at the 21st Annual General Meeting of the Brakwa Breman Rural Bank at Brakwa. He appealed to Rural Banks to involve the ARB Apex Bank in the recruitment and selection of their staff including the managers and Accountants.

Mr. Kwapong said the ARB Apex bank had entered into an agreement with some foreign money transfer companies to use Rural Banks to transfer home remittances of Ghanaians abroad. He said competition had made the banking business more challenging and called on members of board and management of Rural Banks to work harder.
