Europe-based Players To Engage In Charity Matches

Kumasi, June 23 Ghanaian players based in Europe and other countries currently on holidays will play two matches to raise funds for charity. They play their first match against Kotoko on Wednesday, June 25 at the Kumasi Sports Stadium and play their second match against Obuasi Goldfields at the Len Clay Stadium at Obuasi on Friday, June 27. According to a spokesman for Sports Associates, organisers of the matches, the professionals will feature players like Isaac Asare, Mallam Yahaya, Tanko Ibrahim, Thomas Duah, Eben Hagan, Prince Opoku Polly, Michael Osei, Emmanuel Duah, Joe Acheampong, Maxwell Konadu and Frimpong Manso, who will captain the team. The spokesman said Opeele Aboagye, Kasola Da Costa, Ntow Gyan, Nana Frimpong and Yaw Sebeh will feature as guest players and that the team will be handled by coach De Graft and Haruna Yussif. He said the two matches have been scheduled to be played under floodlights so as to enable workers to watch and also expose the home-based players to playing under floodlights.
