Ghanaian chief drummer arrested for sexual harassment

Wurzburg, June 26, GNA -- Joseph Langabel, Chief drummer of the Ghana Supporters Union, currently cheering the Black Stars at the ongoing 2006 FIFA World Cup was arrested by the Wurzburg Police in the early hours of Monday, for sexual harassment.

He is currently in custody of the Weissenburg Street 2 Police Station assisting in investigations.

The Weissenburg Police confirmed the arrest to the GNA Sports on Monday afternoon.

Langabel, according to Susan, an officer at the station would either be released within 24 hours or be sent to court for a judge to determine whether to further detain him.

The Wurzburg Police were said to have stormed the Black Stars base - Maritim Hotel in the early hours of Monday in search of the chief drummer who allegedly harassed a German women sexually.

He is said to be collaborating well with the Police through an interpreter.

The GNA Sports can confirm that the drummer is being prepared to meet a judge on Tuesday.

Though the officers did not permit the reporter an entry to the cells, it was confirmed Langabel was doing well.

The outspoken Langabel was scheduled to leave Wurzburg for Dortmund earlier today to mobilize support for the Stars ahead of their knock-out game against Brazil on Tuesday.
