Ho, June 20, GNA - Work at Ho Municipal Hospital remained at a standstill despite the decision by Health Workers Group (HWG) to end their strike action over working conditions.

The strike action involved nurses, pharmacists, anaesthetists, administrators and allied workers.

The outpatients department was without any activity when Ghana News Agency (GNA) got there at around 1400 hours on Monday. All the wards were empty except for some activity at the Labour ward.

Dr Kofi Nomanyo, Medical Superintendent of the Hospital told Ghana News Agency (GNA) on telephone that he was optimistic work would begin tomorrow, Wednesday June 21.

He confirmed that the labour department was open for emergency cases.
