Armed Forces Apologize

The Ghana Armed Forces has expressed regret about the cancellation for the second time, of a press conference it scheduled for May 29, 2006.

A statement issued by the Public Relations Directorate said the press conference was called off because of operational, security and administrative considerations.

?The directorate wishes to state that it is neither deliberate, intentional nor an attempt to spite the media?, it said, and explained that arrangements had actually been put in place for the conference until the last hours when it became necessary to call it off.

It expressed the hope that ?the unfortunate isolated case would not mar the cordial relationship between the media and the Armed Forces.
