Ghana Telecom urged to support community in which it operates

Cape Coast, May 12, GNA - The Acting Cape Coast Municipal Chief Executive, Nana Ato Arthur, on Friday called on Ghana Telecom and other telecommunication institutions operating in the municipality to support the district assembly to meet its challenges especially on sanitation. He said by doing this they would be responding to the social responsibility to the communities in which they operate.

Nana Ato made the call when he joined Nana Kowdwo Condua VII Omanhene of Edina traditional area to launch Central Region GTEazyfone Prepaid Telephony in Cape Coast.

GTEazyfone Prepaid Telephony is a new product introduced by Ghana Telecom (GT) that allows customers to call any destination within the prepaid credit on their fixed lines.

Nana Ato commended Ghana telecom for extending the facility to the region and said it would enhance businesses in the region and called on the public to patronise it.

Mr Joseph Tinagye-Gyimah, the Regional Manager of GT, said due to the liberalized economy GT has over the last three years embarked on vigorous and massive expansion and modernization of its network to provide adequate, efficient and reliable telecommunication service to support the government's Golden Age of Business. Mr Tinagye-Gyimah said the new Eazyfone telephony was introduced to address problems associated with billing system.
