You evoke wisdom with your rare speech – Rawlings celebrates Chief Imam @ 100

Former President Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings has heaped glowing accolades on the Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu as the latter marks his 100th birthday.

In a brief message to the Islamic Cleric, Mr. Rawlings highlighted his significant role played in society, both as a religious leader and as a unifier in the country.

He touted Sheikh Sharubutu as one of the few impactful persons who barely speaks except very necessary, noting how his occasional speeches have tremendous effect in various ways on the progress and development of society.

“Congratulations to Sheikh Nuhu Sharubutu @ 100”, the message read.

It continued, “Sheikh, you are revered across the religious divide for your good leadership, wisdom and strong sense of purpose. You remain a significant anchor for the stability we find in our society. You hardly speak but when you do, it evokes only wisdom. I pray for Allah’s greatest blessings as you chalk one century on this earth. May your life continue to impact positively on Ghanaians. Happy Birthday”.



Dr. Sharubutu has held and participated in series of activities to mark his 100th anniversary, including special Jummah prayers at the Central Mosque, Church Service at the Christ the King Parish in Accra, and a lecture today.
