Tema, September 28, GNA - Work on the Tema-Asaprochona-Accra railway= , which was inaugurated by President John Evans Atta Mills last year, is near completion.
Mr. Yaron Tal, Managing Director of Amandi Ghana Limited, a multinational company in charge of the project disclosed this to journalist= s in Tema. The Managing Director said 75 per cent work on the project had been done and he was optimistic that the project would be inaugurated by the end of the year.
Mr Tal expressed regretted that work on the project had delayed due to problem of funding and obstruction of work by underground Vodafone telecommunication lines Electricity Company of Ghana electrical cables, and pipelines of the Tema Oil Refinery.
He said these companies were addressing the issues for work on the project to continue adding that the railway line would be extended to Japan Motors at Kpone.
Mr. Tal called on the Ghana Railway Authority to ensure regular maintenance of the country's railway lines.
