The Public Relations Officer of the Ministry Of Health, Tony Goodman has discounted claims that government is putting up infrastructure without the corresponding equipment.

General Secretary of the Ghana Medical Association, Dr. Frank Serebour had told 3FM’s morning show, the Sunrise that Ghana has more health infrastructure without equipment to deliver quality health care.

But Goodman told 3 News, Tony Goodman the ministry has also invested heavily equipment to ensure quality health care delivery in health centres across the country.

“His assertion that we have a lot of infrastructure without equipment that is not wholly true. You will recall that recently government has to invest over 270 million into the health sector equipment projects which saw a lot of equipment in various hospitals from the Christian health facilities to the Ghana Health Service facilities through to the teaching hospitals”.

He added that government will continue to provide personnel and equipment for private hospitals to offer quality health service to the public.

“We believe that the private health sector is also part of the Ministry of Health, the Christian health, and all other institutions are part of the Ministry of Health so we will provide equipment, we will provide human resource for them to also operate,” he noted
