Wakaso makes Las Palmas debut

Mubarak Wakaso made his debut appearance for his new club Las Palmas on Sunday evening.

What's more, this was a far cry from the traditional cameo for a new signing given a few minutes to get into the groove and begin forging an understanding with his new teammates, with the points in the bag.

On the contrary, Wakaso was turned to in the 85th minute as Las Palmas battled back from two goals down to earn a 3-3 draw and end Celta Vigo's perfect start to the La Liga campaign.

Jonathan Viera made way for the Ghana international, which is a testament to the fierce competition for places in Las Palmas' midfield hub.

The game's first big talking point came 11 minutes in when Javi Varas brought down Iago Aspas inside the area to concede a penalty and earn himself a straight red card.

Fabian Orellana successfully tucked away the penalty to edge the home side ahead, before Daniel Wasspounced on the ball inside the box to double his side's lead just a few minutes later.

A battling Las Palmas side had plenty left in them, though, and they were right back in it when Sergio Araujo tapped home to half the deficit at Balaidos.

The game's third goal, which at the time looked to be pivotal, did not arrive until the 49th minute whenNolito kept his composure to slot away.
