Some of Ghana’s best football talents will be on show when the 2015 Milo Games kicks off in the Upper West region on Monday, August 31, 2015.

The inter-school talent hunt sporting event returns to Wa for the first time in a decade. The Bi-annual inter-regional schools and colleges festivals returns to the regional capital with over 2000 athletes expected compete in over fifteen sporting disciplines.

Sponsored by one of the largest beverage manufacturing company in the nation, the 29th edition of the Milo Games promises thrills across the various venues selected.

With an expected 2,360 combined athletes and a total 112 officials for the nine days sporting festival, the youngest region in the nation will temporarily remain the most attentive on the sporting fraternity.

Boosted by the home support and the presence of the legendary Paul Hermit in their ranks, the Upper West contingents could not have asked for a better platform to sell their sporting talents to the world.

Paul Hermit, whose 5000 meter record of 14:36:06 is yet to be broken since his heroics in 1986, has been fine tuning the Upper West long distance runners alongside Issah Imuran.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for Monday, August 31, 2015 under the leadership of Honourable Professor Naana Opoku Agyemang, Hon. Samuel Okudzoto Ablakwa and the upper west regional minister, Honorable Alhaji Hamidu Suleman.

The opening match will see Ashanti region taking on Upper East region in the men’s football at the Wa Sports stadium.
