Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has debunked rumours the Black Stars are planning to boycott the 2018 World Cup preliminary qualifying game against Comoros due to unpaid bonuses.

The men’s senior national side is owed winning bonuses from the Mauritius and Rwanda games, leading to rife media reports that the players are threatening to boycott the game.

Gyan told Starr Sports he is unaware of the rumours and insists the players are poised to serve the country.

“Talking about payment, we were paid and I don’t know where these rumors are coming from,” the goal poacher said.

“We are more focused on the game ahead of us right now. So far none of the players is complaining and we believe in them… If they owe us they are going to pay because it is our money and they can’t run away with our money.”

The Black Stars will travel to Comoros next week for the first leg of the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Preliminary Competition African Zone) qualifying match against Comoros which will be played on Friday 13th November, 2015.
