The Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) has commenced investigations into the alleged stealing of anti-snakebites in the Upper East region.

Two pharmacists have been arrested for conniving with some health workers to steal and sell the vaccines at exorbitant prices.

Some staff of the Zebilla District hospital who have been fingered are currently on the run.

Confirming the incident to Starr News, the Zebilla District Police commander ASP James Ankan said although the suspects have confirmed purchasing the vaccines, they are unable to tell who they bought it from.

“We have joined hands with the BNI and we have arrested the two of them. They have admitted buying the item but they are unable to tell us exactly who sold it to them. They claim they bought them from a mobile van. But we are still getting some serious information which will help us,” he stated.
