Bliss Nii Kweikumah Otoo, a teacher was been charged with stealing at the Imoru Ziblim Circuit Court in Accra last week for stealing his former student's property worth over nineteen million cedis including a wedding ring.

The Prosecutor, Assistant Superintendent J.K. Abraham told the court that the complainant was a student of Advanced Professional Studies (APS) at Adabraka in Accra and Otoo was his class teacher.

He said in July last year, the complainant employed the accused to teach him part-time at home and paid him monthly. In December last year, the complainant detected that some of his valuable things were missing, including wrist watches, gold rings, wedding rings bracelets, necklaces, shirts, tie pins and money worth ?1.6 million from his bedroom.

The complainant attended an evening class at Adabraka on January 16 this year and spotted his former tutor wearing one of his missing rings and watch. He confronted the accused in the presence of the Acting Director of the school Mr. Kudjordzi.

The accused admitted stealing the items and later produced some of them but refused to produce the rest including the complainant's wedding ring after several demands.

In his statement to the police he admitted the offence and led the police to his house to retrieve some of the stolen items but he could not account for the rest including the wedding ring.

After thorough investigations he was charged with the offence.
