The Ghana Institute of Taxation is to set up tax bureau in Accra to give advise on tax planing and compliance. This is the first step by the institute to step up its educational programme.
Mr Frank D. Tweneboa, President of the institute speaking at a press conference to mark this year's tax week, said this will be done with the Internal Revenue Service, Customs, Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) and Ministry of Finance and economic Planning.
The theme for this year's celebration is "Investment Opportunity" in Ghana. Mr. Tweneboa said the institute will advance the tax profession by the promotion of the tax administration and practice. The president said this will be done through exchange programmes, seminars, workshops, symposia and debates and the publication of research materials.
Mr. Tweneboa said this is to ensure that high standard of professional ethnic are maintain among members of the institute.
