Excitement engulfed the Banquet Hall of the State House when popular anti- malaria drug, “Lonart” produced by Tobinco Pharmaceuticals one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in Ghana, was adjudged The Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) Product of the Year, 2014.

This was at the 26th Awards National Marketing Performance Awards organized by the Institute last Saturday.

CIMG Awards, one of the most popular and celebrated awards in the Country aimed at promoting high professional standards and to encourage excellence among marketing practitioners and to equally ensure an improved quality of products and services being offered by businesses has seen TOBINCO winning three different awards continuously for the past four (4) years.

With a vision of providing quality and affordable essential medicines, Mr. Samuel Amo Tobbin, the CEO of Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited was awarded CIMG Marketing man of the year 2010 and in pursuit of this vision, the Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited was awarded CIMG Marketing Oriented organization of the year 2011 for consistency in meeting the nation’s health needs.

Lonart is undoubtedly the most widely patronized anti-malaria drug in the country.

The event held annually in Accra was on the theme ‘The Future of Marketing: Evolve or Die.'

Marketing and Business Communications Manager, Mr. Ben Kpabi Tetteh noted that the company considers this award as a great honour done the business. “Having been through challenging times, we are proud of our achievements and this award is an endorsement of the fact that hard work, commitment and dedication to duty pays,” he said.

Mr. Tetteh commended the management and staff of the company especially it CEO, Mr. Samuel Amo Tobbin dynamic leadership style has brought us so far, noting also the tremendous patronage shown by its numerous clients.

The Marketing and Business Communications Manager further expressed the company’s unflinching commitment to helping achieve the objectives of the Ghana Health Service (GHS), especially the eradication of malaria by the end of 2015. The award, he pointed out will spur staff on to continue to give off their best and “we will serve our clients and the general public better through the provision of efficacious drugs.”

According to Mr. Tetteh, “One value added feature we have added to the Lonart Brand in conjunction with MPEDIGRE is to enable users of the product to have access to a shortcode which can be used to verify the authenticity of the pack purchased”.

“We believe in our product and we know that our product is very efficacious and yielding the expected results, coupled with the fact that the general public has accepted it wholly,” he ended.
