The Black Stars players have voted for the 2015 FIFA FIFPro World XI while preparing for their crucial 2018 World Cup qualifier against Comoros.

Captain Asamoah Gyan (currently playing at Shanghai SIPG), Andre Ayew (Swansea City), Jordan Ayew (Aston Villa) and all other members of the Ghanaian national team were invited by Anthony Baffoe, the President of the country's players union PFAG and former national team player, to join this year's election.

They were happy to participate.

In our country, people are hoping that Andre Ayew or Christian Atsu will make the World XI, said Baffoe.

That seems to be a bit optimistic for this year's team. Ayew is slowly but steadily building his reputation at Swansea City while Atsu first must try to become a regular in Bournemouth's first team.

Maybe in the future both strikers can follow in the footsteps of Samuel Etoo or Didier Drogba, the only African players who until now have been picked in the World XI.

For now they must focus on equalling Mickael Essien's achievement, as he is the only Ghanaian player who ever made the list of 55.

This Tuesday in the Ghanaian city of Kumasi, Ayew, Atsu and their fellow Black Stars will take on Comoros in their return leg of the second qualifying round for the 2018 World Cup.

The first match ended in a goalless draw.
