Sanni Daara, the communications director for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has stated that Saban Quaye and Nassamu Yakkubu, the team manager and the goalkeeper’s trainer, respectively of the Black Stars are part-time workers for the senior male national football team of Ghana.

Saban Quaye and Nassamu Yakubu are both working for Accra Hearts of Oak as team manager and goalkeeper’s trainer, respectively, but the communications director of the Ghana FA says it doesn’t conflict with their roles as part of the Black Stars coaching staff, because they are full-time workers for the Accra based club, while they are part-time workers for the national team.

According to Sanni Daara, the GFA is not resourced enough to render the financial commitment involved in employing all their technical staff on a full-time basis.

“Nassamu Yakubu and Saban Quaye are working on a part-time basis for the Black Stars, but it is rather Hearts of Oak that has employed them on a full-time basis. This is because we can’t hire them and pay monthly salaries,” he told Kasapa FM.

Sanban Quaye and Nassamu Yakubu were both appointed as part of the Black Stars technical bench in 2011.
