Palermo’s Ghanaian midfielder Kwamina Quaison has been included in Sweden’s provisional list for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro by manager Hakan Ericson.

Following the snub by the Swedish Senior National Team for the ongoing Euro 2016 in France, there were fears that the Ghanaian could opt for his native country.

The Ghanaian has been included in the provisional list for the Swedish U23 to re-ignite the readiness of the Eastern Europeans for his services.

The former AIK Stockholm playmaker had earlier stated his intention to play for the Black Stars of Ghana.

However, he decided to play for them after being called in the subsequent qualifier.

Quaison, 22-year-old made 30 Serie A appearances for Palermo in the just-ended season scoring one goal and providing two assists.

Sweden will battle it out with Asian Champions Japan, South American side Colombia and African giants Nigeria in Group B.
