Professor John Evans Atta Mills, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Candidate won at the Golden Gate polling station. The results are as follows:
NPP - 223
NDC - 313
CPP - 16
PNC - 2
DPP - 0
Independent - 0
In a comment via telephone Prof Mills said the win at the Golden Gate polling station was an approval by his neighbours and said it was the trend that he expected to continue throughout the country. He said in year 2000 elections the NDC lost but won by a slight margin in 2004.
The wide margin this year, he said was a show of the magnitude his neighbours had in him.
He expressed his appreciation to the electorate and repeated his confidence to win this year's election and become the next President of Ghana.
The parliamentary results at the same polling station in the Ledzokuku Constituency were as follows:
