Pro-Mills camp angry

2016 NDC Campaign Team
PRO-MILLS CAMP ANGRY
-As Mahama picks Kofi Adams

Members of the pro-Mills camp in the governing National Democratic Congress, including the Ahwoi brothers, are said to seething with anger over the decision by President John Dramani Mahama to completely disregard them in the considerations that went into the selecting of his campaign team for this year's elections.

They are particularly angered by the decision to select Kofi Adams, national organizer of the party, as his campaign coordinator, in view of the fact that the former deputy General Secretary, who was suspended from the party some time ago, gave the late President John Evans Mills a hell of time while in office.
Kofi Adams was the Organiser of FONKAR when former First Lady Nana Konandu Agyeman Rawlings challenged the late president for the flagbearership of the NDC.

"Members of the pro-Mills camp therefore see the appointment of Kofi Adams as the campaign coordinator as a decision by President Mahama to spite and insult them," a reliable source close to the camp told the Daily Statesman.
Meanwhile, party insiders have confirmed to the paper that the decision by President Mahama not to include his party Chairman, Kofi Portuphy, in the campaign team was motivated by the desire to 'please' the party's General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia.
Mr Nketia, who has had a frosty relationship with his Chairman, was said to be threatened that he would not be part of the campaign team if Mr Portuphy was included by the president.

"Asiedu Nketia could do whatever he wanted under the Chairmanship of Dr Kwabena Adjei, but because Portuphy decided to maintain disciple and ensure complete orderliness in the party office, he became a thorn in the flesh of Nketia. He even threatened to resign last year but President Mahama assured him he would solve the problem. The president's way of solving the problem is to snub the national chairman of the party in selecting him campaign team members, just to please Nketia," our source added.

Members of the Mahama campaign team are Johnson Asiedu Nketia, Chairman; Kofi Adams, Coordinator; Samuel Adu Yeboah, Deputy Coordinator; Joyce Mogtari Bawah, Spokesperson; Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Deputy Spokesperson; and Sylvia Osei, Deputy Spokesperson.

Other members are Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, Dan Abodakpi, Kofi Totobi Quakyi, Theophilus Tetteh Chai, Faustina Nelson, Sherry Ayittey, Alhaji Huudu Yahaya, Alhaji Shamsu Kwakwa, and Daniel Ohene Agyakum.
