Polo aims at coaching junior national teams

Former player and coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Mohammed Polo, has disclosed he would prefer coaching the junior national teams to the Black Stars.

According to Mr Polo, there is pressure on coaches of the Black Stars to deliver instant results; hence, he would prefer the youth team where there is enough room to groom young talents.

“What I want to do is to develop. If I go there [Black Stars], I will be restricted to work under certain conditions where they want instant results. But at the junior sides, with time, I can develop them, and they will grow to that level of maturity and with the right age group for Under-17 and Under-20. By the year 2022, the Black Stars will be ready, and we can get to Qatar 2022 for the World Cup,” he told Class Sports’ Kwame Dwomoh Agyemang in an interview.

The Black Starlets and Black Satellites are currently coached by Paa Kwesi Fabin and Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, respectively.
