Former Ghana U17 gaffer Paa Kwesi Fabin has been named head coach of Uganda’s U17 side, footballmadeinghana.com can exclusively reveal.

The former Asante Kotoko manager left Ghana on Monday for Kampala to conclude negotiations with the Uganda Football Federation.

Fabin has signed a year contract with the Uganda FA and has been tasked to ‘do well’ at the U17 AFCON to be hosted by Tanzania next month.

The experienced trainer has a wonderful tract record with youth development, and his appointment is greatly based on taking Ghana to the U17 AFCON and World Cup.

Fabin guided Ghana to win silver at the U17 AFCON in Gabon in 2017 and finished in the last eight at the FIFA World Cup in India.

Paa Kwesi will also be tasked to with designing a strategy for youth football development as well as being in charge of the juvenile department of the Uganda FA.

Uganda are in Group A with host nation Tanzania as well as WAFU Zone B champions Nigeria and Angola.

The tournament starts from 14th to 28th April, 2019.

Paa Kwesi has already coach Asante Kotoko, Hearts of Oak and Inter Allies, all in the Ghana Premier League.
