Nov. 7 polls not a done deal for NDC - Ametor Quarmyne

A communication member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Eric Ametor Quarmyne, has cautioned members of the party to stop being complacent and work hard to win the upcoming election.

He said although the NDC’s administration has done much and deserves a second mandate, it’s not automatic that the party will easily win the elections going by voting trends since 1992.

Speaking on Atinka AM Drive hosted by Kwame Adinkra Monday , the former editor of the Ghana Palaver classified floating voters as king makers and must therefore be the party’s target during the campaign season.

He acknowledged that party supporters alone cannot bring a party to power and that if members do not attract floating voters , the party’s quest for a one touch victory will be a mirage .

Ametor Quarmyne called on NDC activists to come out with a well thought-out strategy to sell the party and its presidential candidate.

“If NDC members think that the current leadership crisis in the opposition NPP will give us victory hands down , then we might be in for trouble.

Even though the NPP leaders are fighting among themselves, their grassroot seem united and formidable and they are working harder to bring their party back to power,” he observed.

He said there was no time to waste and urged party activists to wake up because President Mahama is working harder .

“Members also need to work hard to give the party a second mandate ; it’s not a done deal but a tough one,” the veteran journalist said.
