Northern Regional Minister tours development projects

Bimbilla (N/R), April 26, GNA - Mr Moses Bukari Mabengba, the Northe= rn Regional Minister, has taken a two-day tour of some parts of the region t= o inspect ongoing developmental projects. Though he expressed gratitude for work done so far by the contractor= s, he urged them to complete work on schedule. The tour took him to Nunumba North and South and Kpandai, where he inspected Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) projects at Kpandai, construction of ten bungalows at a cost of GH¢960,000 and classroom blo= cks also at Kpandai.

At Nanumba North, he inspected bungalows for tutors of the Bimbilla Training College, newly built classroom blocks, a Soya-bean processing factory and a mechanized water project at Bimbilla.

Later at a durbar in Bimbilla, the Minister told the people that wit= hin the short time of President Mills' Administration, several developmental projects were ongoing across the country in order to improve the living conditions of the people. He said government was implementing all these projects despite the difficulties it inherited from the previous administration adding that "W= e would ensure we fulfill all our promises before the next elections". Mr Mabengba assured the people that the Eastern Corridor roads would=

start before the 2012 general elections saying government was still searching for competent contractors to start work on that road. Mr Mohammed Ibin-Abass, District Chief Executive (DCE) of the Nanumb= a North, told the people that although he met huge debt, he had not only defray the debt but also implemented a number of developmental projects. He said his administration prudently managed its resources that resulted in positive dividends for the Assembly. The DCE, however, said poor road networks and portable water provisi= on was the major concern of the area and urged government to assist area. He urged people in the area to send their children to school since education was the key to their success in life.
