Former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Mathew Okikiola Aremu Obasanjo has for the first time spoken about reasons surrounding his hostile relationship with current President Muhammadu Buhari, his Vice Yemi Osinbajo and Ike Ekweremadu.

Mr Obasanjo was granting a hot interview to Ghanaweb for the first time.

According to the former Nigerian Army general who vigorously campaigned for Buhari to become president in 2015, what he is seeing of the incompetence at play is shocking, accusing Buhari of woefully failing Nigerians, a situation that for him requires Buhari to be kicked out of office.

Buhari, a former dictator-turned-democrat is also accused of being a democrat only in name. Mr Obasanjo also accused Buhari of being sick but refusing to “go home” and rest but is rather adopting illegal tactics to cling to power at all cost, likening him to Abacha, the famous Nigerian Kleptocrat.

“Buhari has intimidated and harassed the private sector, attacked the National Assembly and now unconstitutionally and recklessly attacked and intimidated the judiciary to cow them to submission,” Obasanjo said.

Listing a litany of issues in which Buhari has abused his office or shown abject cluelessness, Obasanjo in the interview simply bathed the Buhari government naked in Ghana.

Speaking to Ghanaweb’s Kyenkyenhene Boateng on a yet to be aired episode of popular political talkshow '21 minutes with KKB' he said “we must not all sleep and put our heads on the same pillow. That means that we must think and must be able to think and come up and say I think things must be this way”, justifying his entrenched stance against the Buhari administration in the teaser MyNewsGh.com obtained.

Obasanjo is championing a crusade to vote out Buhari for failing to manage the country’s security crisis among others saying “The security situation has deteriorated with kidnappings everywhere and Boko Haram being more in action and nobody should deceive Nigerians about this,” Obasanjo said.
