The New Juaben Senior High and Commercial School (NJUASCO), beat Pentecost Senior High School (PENSEC) by a lone goal, to win this year’s National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) Citizenship Week fun games in Koforidua.

NJUASCO also won the spoon and lime, and the sack race at the games, with PENSEC taking away only the scrabble trophy.

The Citizenship Week celebration is an annual event observed by the NCCE, to educate and remind Ghanaians of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after the games, Mr Prosper Lagble, the Deputy Eastern Regional Director of NCCE, explained that the celebration was to motivate the citizens to know their rights and responsibilities as per the Constitution.

Mr Lagble said the fun games served as a source of encouragement to the youth to be disciplined, and also gave the students the opportunity to socialize.
