Investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas has hinted that there is a threat on the lives of his family but has given the strongest indication that he would not be cowed into “docility.”

Anas, who has exposed several misdeeds and acts of corruption especially people in public offices told the BBC that he remains resolute in exposing evil people.

He said “I’m sure that by now you have heard of the snippets of threats on my family and many other things that are coming up… I know that but I want to assure the people on the African continent who think that they can cow people like us into docility, I’m not one of them.”

His undercover reporting has led to the sentencing of several people with others still going back and forth from court trying to defend and wean themselves of the allegations.

His latest piece, ‘Ghana in the eyes of God’ which focused on the country’s judiciary kicked up a storm of debate in the public space.

This expose lent credence to the public perception that the judiciary was corrupt. In all, 34 judges were caught on video engaging in various acts of corruption out of which 22 have been suspended.

Lawyers of some of the judges have condemned the modus operandi of the journalist.

About a month ago, one of the aids of Anas was kidnapped in Tamale for assisting in the exposing a judge. He was later released and the hostage takers arrested.

Anas in his interview said he is not perturbed about the recent threats adding that “I was purged of fear long ago and I’m resolute and focused. I do not do my work alone, I have a team which supports me in what I do. As far as I’m concerned, ones there are evil doers in society, we must aim at ensuring that we track them down.”

He has however hinted that there is more to come with regard to exposing persons who are duping the country by virtue of their positions.
