Prodigious Ghanaian teenager Denzeil Adjei-Boadu has been drafted into the Manchester City first team squad by manager Pep Guardiola.

The 19-year-old centre-forward excelled with City's Development squad last season and the former Barcelona manager has included him in his plans for the season.

Boadu, a typical attacker who has demonstrated his qualities on the flanks, is expected to offer keen competition to Raheem Sterling, who has failed to live up to the billing since arriving from Liverpool.

The London-born, who holds both Ghanaian and English passports, has featured for the English at youth level.

He is the fourth Ghanaian player named in the City squad for the upcoming season after Bismark Adjei-Boateng, Thomas Agyepong and Yaw Yeboah, who spent last season on loan at French side Lille.

City manager Guardiola has also told Ghana U20 star Yaw Yeboah he will feature prominently in his plans for the upcoming season.
