Man 'butchers' pregnant wife for attending wake-keeping

A man believed to be in his thirties Friday night allegedly butchered his four months old pregnant wife.

The man, popularly called Frenchman is reported to have butchered the wife, one Akosuah Betty, 27 years of age at Koniyaw in the Bekwai municipality.

According to Kapital News’ correspondent at Bekwai, Nana Yaw Ntiri, the man committed the dastardly act because his pregnant wife went to a wake-keeping observation that was ongoing in the Koniyaw community and danced.

“The man complained that the lady went to a wake keeping and danced so he went there to call the lady, sent the lady into their room and started cutting her.”

Elder sister to the deceased Janet also expressed shock at Frenchman’s behavior because according to her, he lived in harmony with her sister.

Police CID in the Bekwai municipality, Inspector Osei Boateng said serious investigations are currently ongoing to find Frenchman who is currently on the run and bring him to book.

One woman called Yaya, a spot operator has been invited by the police to help with investigations because the woman is saying she saw Frenchman running away around six am. so she has been invited by the police to help them in investigations.

Meanwhile a similar incident has also happened in the Assin Nkoransa where a man called Kweku Atta, fifty, and the woman now deceased was called Abena Mansah, in her thirties.

The man told the woman to accompany him to the farm, when they got there he started butchering her, but woman started running for her life, but he chased her, got her and finished her up.

The Bekwai police, according to Nana Yaw Ntiri have started investigations into that issue as well.
