Man, 36 arrested for attempted abortion, defilement of granddaughter

The Tease Police in the Affram Plains South District of the Eastern Region, have arrested a 36-year-old man at Boakyekrom near Ekye Amanfrom over attempted abortion and defilement.

The Suspect, Tenyo Kandabekuni alias Wareware, 36, allegedly defiled and impregnated a 15-year-old girl who is his uncle’s granddaughter but later gave her some medicine to abort the pregnancy.

Kasapa News has gathered that the victim suffered life-threatening complications after taking the medicine and was rushed to Ekye Amanfrom Presby Health Center for treatment where she narrated her ordeal.

The Unit Committee Chairman in the community, Abeilla Banaa , subsequently lodged a complaint at the Police Station leading to the arrest of the Suspect whom according to the Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, Sergeant Francis Gomado, is in Police custody assisting the investigation.

Meanwhile, the victim is recuperating.
