Major highlights from the launch of the 2015/16 GPL season

The Ghana Football Association launched the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League at its headquarters in Accra on Wednesday.

At the launch, all the 16 Premier League clubs showcased their jerseys for the upcoming season.

Below are the major highlights of the event:

SuperSport have opened their doors for local stations to approach them for opportunities to telecast matches live FREE.

GTV to show Saturday matches live and Sunday matches delayed.
Monthly compilation of highlights to be made available for any station that is interested to show.

Television stations must spend much time on our league just like South Africa and Kenya.

Radio Commentary Right to be sold to a company that will then sell to interested radio stations to run commentary.

Professional Footballers Association of Ghana [PFAG] have introduced an insurance premium for all players of the 16 Premier League clubs.
PFAG to issue ID Cards to retired and active footballers to watch matches free.

PFAG to introduce a Pension Scheme for footballers to take care of their lives after football.

Tamimu Issa has been appointed as the Communications Director of the Premier League Board

All the 16 clubs demonstrated their official and reserve jerseys for the season, and there was no clash.

Techiman City FC, Ebusua Dwarfs and Liberty Professionals had two sets of jerseys with a sponsor each.

Accra Hearts of Oak’s jerseys were adjudged the most beautiful jerseys at the launch by popular vote.
