President John Dramani Mahama will be in Abidjan, Côte D'Ivoire, today for an official visit at the invitation of his counterpart Alasanne Ouattara, a Flagstaff House statement announced.

Mahama will be accompanied by his wife, Lordina, and a high powered government delegation.

President Mahama will hold talks with his Ivorian counterpart, and will also be decorated with Ivory Coast’s highest national award.

The statement added: “The President will also receive the key to Abidjan and an honorary citizenship of Côte D'Ivoire.”

Relations between Ghana and its western neighbour have seen tremendous improvement under the leadership of Presidents Mahama and Ouattara.

Mahama is scheduled to return to Accra on Thursday.
