Factors Leading to the Overthrow of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.

On tuesday, June 5, 2007 at the KAMA conference hall in Ghana Accra Ghana, the world shall witness the unveilinng of some of the key factors that preceded the overthrow of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, the first President of the Republic of Ghana. The overthrow of this giant of Africa has had several twists to it all involving the complicity of the CIA, and some Ghanaian Military and Police senior officers. No one has been bold to mention the internal issues, within the nation and the Party (CPP) of Dr Nkrumah that contributed greatly to this exerise.

In a tribute to Dr Nkrumah, Amilcar Cabral, is quoted to have said "Rice can only be cooked from inside the pot". Indeed the CIA and all other foreign collaborators in this heinous crime against Ghana and Africa would not have succeeded if not for the part played by Ghanaians. This book about to be launched contains a critical diagnosis the factors and major events that culminated into the overthrow of Dr Nkrumah in the infamous 24th February 1966 coup which are still militating against the progress of this nation TODAY at all sectors of our development.

The writer is no mean a person than a special advisor and a confidant of Dr Kwame Nkrumah who is also a world renowned soil scientist, DR MATHEW N. TETTEH. He exposes the extent of damage, human and material that RUMOUR has caused this country. The book further zooms on the Nkrumah administration, cuts through other areas such as individual, family, educational, religious, economic and socio-cultural dimensions of the wreck of RUMOUR.

ANATOMY OF RUMOUR MONGERING IN GHANA will be lauched by Prof Kofi Agyemang Badu Akosa, immediate past Director General of Ghana Health Service to be chaired by Hon. Kojo Armah, MP for Evalue-Gwira. The Special Guest of Honour is Dr. Olorogun O'tega Emerhor (Vice Chairman, FIRST INLAND BANK PLC, NIGERIA). The time for the launch is 4:30pm, Tuesday, June 5, 2007.

It makes interesting reading Dr Nkrumah's own take on rumour in a the dawn broadcast of April 8, 1961 which the writer produces in the book;

So, day after day, night after night, all types and manner of wild allegations and rumour are heard circulated and they are well sprinkled with: They say, they say, wo see, wo see, akee, akee. Many members of the party and the public are GUILTY of this conduct. ........One of the most degrading aspects of party conduct is the tendency on the part of some comrades to go round using the names of persons in prominent positions to create agents for collecting money. This is a shameful and highly criminal tendency which must be crushed in the most ruthless manner."
