Lamudi launches property magazine

Online property portal, Lamudi Ghana is set to launch its first ever magazine next Tuesday, July 21, in Accra; as part of efforts to bridge the information gap in real estate industry.

Property Now, as it is called, would educate players in the real estate industry, as well as the public, on matters bordering on the sector.

A statement issued by Mr Fidel Owusu Amoah, Content Manager, Lamudi Ghana and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday said the magazine would be published every quarter with the first issue available for free.

It said Lamudi would also publish contents of the magazine online to meet the growing online community in Ghana and Diaspora with the rest of the world.

It observed that the online version of the magazine would be shared with more than 20,000 Lamudi Ghana subscribers and fans.

The statement said issues spanning energy efficiency, affordable housing and sustainable building are but a few of the topics covered in the magazine.

It said Ghana’s relatively young real estate industry has seen tremendous amounts of growth over the last decade; this boon was largely as result of the discovery of oil off the shores of the country’s coast.

“The need for bigger investment in real estate was given more credence with the upgrading of the economy to a middle income status.

“With all this in play, investors and the public's’ appetite for real estate related information has increased. It therefore comes as a relief to all stakeholders interested in obtaining information of that sort,” the statement said.

Akua Nyame-Mensah, Managing Director, Lamudi Ghana, said: “We love being able to provide opportunities to showcase our local developers and agencies as well as provide better information and data to potential investors, property owners and renters.”

“The information our publications provide will help everyone involved in the sector make better decisions,” she added.

Lamudi Ghana has more than 8,000 listings catering to house hunters and consumers of real estate. The company also undertakes research and provides it free of charge to the public.

In November 2014, the real estate expert released a white paper report on the real estate industry in Ghana which was made available online.

Launched in 2013, Lamudi is a global property portal focusing exclusively on emerging markets. The fast-growing platform is currently available in 32 countries in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America, with more than 900,000 real estate listings across its global network.

The leading real estate marketplace offers sellers, buyers, landlords and renters a secure and easy-to-use platform to find or list properties online.
