Jordan Opoku quits football to concentrate on God's work

Ex Asante Kotoko midfielder, Jordan Opoku has revealed that he has temporally quit football to concentrate on how to win souls for God adding he will return to the field in 2017.

The former Fetteh Feyernood captain was put on transfer as he was deemed surplus to requirement by Asante Kotoko after the end of the 2014/15 league season.

Opoku who currently attends church at Break Yoke Ministry International has been one of the budding talents in the Ghana premier league as he was part of Berekum Chelsea success story in 2011 were they won the top-flight league and also qualified to the money zone of the CAF champions league.

However, in 2014/15 league season, the 29 year old diminutive midfielder failed to impress which necessitated Kotoko’s decision to put him on transfer.

Ahead of the upcoming season host of clubs which include, Hearts of Oak and Medeama have targeted to capture Opoku, but the experienced midfielder has revealed that he has temporally hanged up his boots to concentrate on winning souls to God.

“I’m temporally quitting football to concentrate on winning souls to God I honestly mean it, It is something that I have wanted to do and I think this is the right moment for me to embark on that journey to bring souls to God. If I will play football again it will be in 2017,” Opoku revealed to Allsports.com.gh.
