I will support Kuffour - Akunnor

CK Akunnor says Samuel Osei Kuffour will enjoy his full support when appointed the Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko but refused to comment on whether he will accept an appointment from his former international teammate.

Kuffour’s appointment as ‘President’ of the Ghanaian giants remain hanging with owner Otumfour Osei Tutu II yet to decide on the future administration of the club.

The former Bayern Munich star appears to have rushed in his public revelation of his imminent appointment even before the said appointment was made official.

He however remains the overwhelming favourite to land the job which according to information will give him far-reaching powers to appoint his own board.

CK Akunnor says he will be offering full support to his former Black Stars playmate but declined to confirm whether he will accept a job offer from Kuffour.

“Of course, he has my full support and I am proud of him,” he in an interview.

“He is a brave guy. I don’t know what is going on there but let’s just give him the chance and we will see what he will do.

“We are not there yet [over whether he will accept an offer to work under Kuffour at Kotoko].

“It’s delightful that our generation are taking up such mantles and we hope that the Gyans and the rest will also follow in this direction.”
