I will make history with the Stars - Grant

Ghana Coach Avram Grant says his ambition is to make history with the Black Stars at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, but admits he must first concentrate on winning against Comoros tomorrow.

The Black Stars will host Les Coelecantes at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the second leg of the qualifier on Tuesday.

Africa’s best feat at the World Cup is the quarter finals, and Avram Grant believes he can better that height at the global soccer tournament.

“We want to put Ghana as the first African country that will do well in the World cup and not just the group stage,” Grant told Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on Sunday on the teams visit to Manhyia.

“Our target is to do well in Russia 2018 but there is a Chinese saying that every long journey starts with a first step’. So our first step is to win the game against Comoros on Tuesday,” Grant added.

“I think Ghana deserves it, the talent is here,” he concluded. The Black Stars will have their final training this morning at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium ahead of Tuesday’s game.
