Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, says though he is against the methods of investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, he misses him sometimes.

Touting the professional prowess of the investigative journalist, the controversial legislator said he is sometimes tempted to embrace Anas’ style of investigations because of the conduct of some state officials.

Anas has filed a ¢25 million against Mr Agyapong at the High Court after a series of publications by the MP which he considered were defamatory.

The publications sought to discredit the investigative journalist, who has released a piece on the rot in Ghana football titled; #Number12.

Mr Agyapong screened a video on his television station Net 2 TV which suggested that Anas allegedly demanded a bribe of $100,000 from suspects in a gold scam case he had been contracted to investigate by a foreign company.

But speaking Tuesday on Badwam on Adom TV, Kennedy Agyapong said he is sometimes tempted to adompt Anas’ methodology.

“Even though I’m against that method, sometimes one is convinced to permit that due to the attitudes of some state officials. I miss him sometimes,” he said Adom TVs Morning Show Badwam Tuesday.

The outspoken MP was commenting on the alleged disappearance of about 600,000 litres of contaminated fuel at the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST).

A five-member committee set up by the current Managing Director of BOST, George Mensah Oakley to take stock of five million litres of the off-spec product noticed the disappearance.

Mr Agyapong describing the development at BOST as disgusting said he is tempted to sometimes use Anas’ style of investigations of capturing corrupt activities of state officials on tape.

He, therefore, called for thorough investigations into the matter.
