I’m not partisan – Patrick Awuah

Ashesi University Founder Dr Patrick Awuah has said his participation in the Senchi Economic Forum organised by the Government last year is no proof that he is politically partisan.

The three-day National Economic Forum brought on board technocrats, economists, and representatives from various organisations and institutions to discuss and diagnose Ghana’s economic problems towards finding a consensual and non-partisan solution.

Dr Awuah was the Rapporteur for the Forum, which adopted a 22-point communiqué, dubbed the “Senchi Consensus”.

Addressing concerns about whether his participation in the Forum has not left a political tag on his image, Dr Awuah told Albert Ocran on Joy FM on Sunday November 8, that “I got a call from the Vice-President’s office asking me to come contribute towards a national dialogue and I was happy to do it.”

“It was an honour and privilege for me to do that,” Dr Awuah added.

He said: “I really will like to see Ghana advance and be successful, and because I want to see Ghana be successful, I want every President to be successful, I want every administration to be successful, and any administration that asks me to make a contribution; I will make that contribution, and I think that as citizens of a country, we ought to be looking out for the best for the country and not be only looking at things through partisan lenses,” Dr Awuah noted.
