Newly appointed Vice President of the Ghana FA George Afriyie is exuding humility after admitting his quality is nowhere near to that of his predecessors, Fred Crentsil and Fred Pappoe.

The Director of Ghana Premier League side Liberty Professionals was appointed as the GFAs new Vice at the first meeting of the new Executive Committee on Thursday and showed his desire to reach the standards set by his predecessors.

This appointment is in conformity with Article 30.3 of the GFA statutes which gives powers to the President Kwesi Nyantakyi to appoint his own vice and members of the Emergency Committee.

Afriyie emerged Nyantakyis preferred choice due to his hard work and consistency in his contribution towards the development and promotion of football in the country.

The Black Stars management committee chairman, instead of blowing his own trumpet in his new role, by sugaring-up and extolling to qualities of his predecessors.

Both Vice Presidents were excellent personalities, he told Dailysoccerghana.

They possess a lot of qualities, wisdom and they are top professionals. If you ask me to compare, I would say I dont come anywhere near these gentlemen.

I learn a lot from them. I believe that they will there to guide me even though they are no longer Executive Committee members.

Afriyie is joined by Kweku Eyiah, Benjamin Eyison and Eddie Doku to make up the five-member Emergency Committee headed by Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi.
