Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan will visit his alma mater Accra Academy on Thursday, 26th November 2015.

The Shanghai SIPG forward will make the visit to the secondary school to cut the sod as a sign for the commencement of work on the football pitch at the school.

Gyan promised to finance an artificial pitch for the school in February this year, a project believed to cost in the region of $100 000 to replace their grass depleted existing park.

The former Sunderland and Al Ain player attended Accra Academy where he had J.E. Sarpong as his coach in the football team. Ghana and Shanghai SIPG’s number 3 completed the school in 2002.

Asamoah Gyan’s foundation commissioned a water system for Wenchi Township in March. He also donated $15 000 to the Korle Bu Heart Foundation.

The Shanghai SIPG player is currently on holidays in Ghana after the Chinese Super League ended for the 2015 season.
