Give me foreign injection - Bash

AshantiGold head coach Bashir Hayford has stated he expects the inclusion of a certain quota of foreign players in his squad for their CAF Champions League campaign for next season.

The Miners had Burkinabe defender Henri Traore, Ivorian striker Didier Kore, on-loan Namibian striker Petrus Shitembe last season.

But, the trio have all left the Obuasi-based side following the expiration of their contracts and Hayford insists he is looking forward to new additions before they commence their campaign.

“I am looking forward to have certain players from outside Ghana to let people see that we are truly a professional club in Ghana. We have lost some of these foreign players that we had last season,” he told Accra-based Atinka FM.

Hayford won his first Premier League title in many seasons after guiding AshantiGold to success at the end of the current season.

The former Tema Youth and Medeama SC coach will lead the Elephants back into Africa after over a decade’s absence.
