The late top Ghana cyclist Samuel Anim has been buried at the Osu cemetery.

The funeral service which was funded by the National Sports Authority was held at the Accra Sports Stadium, Saturday.

Anim died while training on the Aburi mountains for the upcoming All Africa Games.

He was the reigning Cowbell National Cycling Champion. He won the Sports Writers Association of Ghana Cyclist of the Year award in 2014.

Anim led Ghana’s campaign in the men’s individual Time Trial and Road Race at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Anim’s personal trainer Nuru Seidu described the deceased as a serious cyclist with a bright future.

“I will miss Samuel Anim so much because the guy was a serious cyclist and ready to learn everything you will teach him. The guy has worked had to raise the Ghana flag abroad. I have spent so much on him because I saw he had a bright future but now it has all gone waste,” Seidu told Starr Sports.
