Presidential aspirant of the Convention People’s Party Samia Nkrumah has stated that Ghana needs a liberation from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to her, the CPP which was founded by her father - Dr Kwame Nkrumah who also became Ghana’s first President - deserves a second chance from Ghanaians.
The CPP has struggled to remain relevant in Ghana’s politic since Dr. Nkrumah was overthrown in a coup in 1966.
The NDC and NPP have ruled Ghana in turns since the country returned to constitutional rule in 1992.
Samia has however promised to bring the party back to winning ways if delegates of the party elect her to lead them into the November elections.
Speaking to Bola Ray on Starr Chat on Starr FM Wednesday, the former Member of Parliament said the CPP under her leadership will modernize her father’s development ideals and bring back hope to Ghanaians.
“We have to liberate ourselves from the NPP and NDC, Ghana needs to give the CPP a second chance,” she said.
Samia added that Ghanaians need an “economic revolution in thinking” in order to change the country.
