The Communications Director Ghana Football Association Ibrahim Saanie Daara has revealed that the federation is in advanced talks with an unknown company to buy the radio commentary rights of the upcoming Ghana Premier League.

Over the years, the Ghana FA has given radio stations free rights to run commentary on the local league matches but Saanie has disclosed that the new season will not be like the previous seasons.

Speaking at the launch of the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League at the Ghana FA headquarters on Wednesday, Saanie told the media that the FA has reached an advanced stage in the negotiation.

"We are also in advanced talks with a company that will, for the first time, buy the radio commentary rights exclusively and only give it to stations that meet their demands after negotiating with them," Saanie told the media.

What this means is that any radio station that is willing to run live commentary and interviews on the Premier League matches will have to reach an agreement with the mother company for the right to do so.

Just as the television rights were sold to SuperSport, the radio rights will also be sold soon for those interested in running commentary to pay before operating.

The Communications Director also noted that most of the content in the running of the commentary are not done properly and the said company will put in experts to develop the content production of the commentary.

The name of the company will soon be known.
