The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), has warned its members against participating in the strike action by the Committed Drivers Association slated for Monday, March 14, 2016 in protest of the increase of insurance premium.

General Secretary of the GPRTU, Mr Issah M. Khaleepha at a meeting with the National Working Committee, asked all regional chairmen to warn their members not to participate in the strike action.

“Much as the GPRTU has registered its misgivings about the increase of insurance, we have not intended to go on strike because we factored all issues into the increase of the lorry fares when we met with the National Insurance Commission,” he said.

Mr Khaleepha indicated that the Union has nothing to do with any person or group of persons embarking on any strike, hence cautioned its members not to get involved.
