The Ghana Football Association has warned clubs that are preparing to issue different accreditation cards for the media to cover their home matches, insisting it is illegal.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the Premier League Board, Tamimu Issah, the Ghana FA has already issued accreditation cards for the media and that is what must be used officially to cover matches at all centers.

In a statement issued this afternoon by the Communications Department of the FA, clubs are seriously warned to desist from such acts since it may attract sanctions.

“It has come to the attention of the Ghana Football Association that some Premier League clubs are in the process of issuing media accreditation cards for their home matches.

The GFA wishes to announce for the information of all stakeholders, particularly Premier League clubs and the media that the only source of media accreditation for the Ghana Premier League is the GFA,” the statement read.

“Clubs who are in the process of issuing their own media accreditation cards are strongly advised to desist from that.

Members of the media are also advised to avoid using such cards, as bearers of these club media accreditation cards will not be granted access to cover any Premier League matches,” the statement added.

All matches will take place at the various centers over the weekend as scheduled.
