After ten years of legal tussle and troubles, the former Dutchotel, now known as African Royal Beach Hotel, is set to re-launch in Accra.

The luxury hotel with magnificent seaside-view rooms is located at Nungua and is currently undergoing major renovations, as management makes bold moves to restore its past glory.

The management of the hotel has been embroiled in a court battle for the past ten years over ownership of the facility. It all came to an end recently with an out-of-court settlement recognising Kayi Sodatonou and her Dutch husband, Nico van Staalduinen, as the rightful owners and managers of the hotel.

In a statement copied to GhanaWeb, the couple said the case which led to the arrest of over 35 people by the police almost ruined their family especially their 8- and 11-year-old kids.

According to them, their lives were threatened several times as their files disappeared on many occasions during the trial of the case.

The hotel has now been leased to a Ghanaian real estate company, Yaw Addo Developments Limited, and is set to reopen for business soon.
