Kumasi Asante Kotoko is arguably the team with enough depth to compete in all fronts for silverware in Ghana, and Isaac ‘Opeele’ Boateng, former coach of the club says David Duncan has no excuse if he fails to win the league.

The Porcupine Warriors will host Medeama SC on Sunday at the Baba Yara sports stadium, and the will looking for their first win of the season having lost to WAFA on Match Week One of the new Ghana Premier League season.

The team is depleted due to injuries, but Opeele insists Duncan has enough players to cope because he chaired recruitment team to sign the players in the off-season.

“Duncan has no excuse (to fail at Kotoko). I got information that Kotoko had formed a committee that was assigned to sign players,” Isaac Opeele said on Asempa FM.

“It included management members and board members but Duncan was the chairman of that committee.

“So he had control over the recruitment, he had the final say on who comes in or leaves. Opoku Nti also told us every position had two or three places for it.

“Duncan has got all the privileges to succeed at the club, so he doesn’t have any excuses; they have all the players he asked for.” He said.
